The No. 1 ranked bowler in the ODI’s, Saeed Ajmal, praised the South African skipper and middle order batsman for his exceptional abilities in stroke-making. AB de Villiers clobbered 45 ball 74 against Pakistan in the 2nd ODI where Pakistan had pulled of an unlikely victory.
The innings consisted of some scintillating strokes which included paddle sweep shots and those shots can prove very tense for the opposition.
“Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers are very good players of spin bowling.” While commenting on de Villiers, he said “I have never seen such a quick player like him against any bowler.”
When asked about Ravichandran Ashwin, who achieved a feat of reaching 100 Test Wickets in 18 Test Matches and became the fastest to reach this in over 80 years, he said, “He is a good spinner as well. He has got 100 wickets in 18 test matches. Also, he is in top 10 bowlers in Test Matches.”
The veteran off-spinner hailed his team’s bowling performances in the past and said that he was satisfied with the effort being put-on in this department.
“We are working hard in the bowling in the last couple of years and have been doing well.”
