Pakistan today announced squad for Hong Kong Sixes which will be played on October 27 and 28. The squad comprises of Abdul Razzaq, Junaid Khan, Umar Akmal, Yasir Shah, Hammad Azam, Owais Zia and Tanvir Ahmed.

Junaid, who was not picked for World T20 in Sri Lanka, will be traveling to Hong Kong to play this annual event for the first time. Tanvir Ahmad, the fast bowler from Karachi who has played 4 Tests between 2010 and 2011, is also picked to represent Pakistan whereas an aggressive opener from Rawalpindi Owais Zia, who played Twenty20 series against England earlier in the year, will boost the hard-hitting ability of the squad.

Abdul Razzaq’s presence has come as bit of surprise since, just recently, he was given show cause notice by PCB for speaking against captain Mohammad Hafeez on his arrival in Pakistan from World Twenty20 2012.

Pakistan are the current champions of Hong Kong Sixes as they beat England last year in final. With 5 titles, Pakistan have  won this tournament more than any team. Hong Kong Sixes is a annual event staged in Hong Kong, played with bit different rules, on artificial pitch and tiny boundaries to entertain the crowd.
