The former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been reached by some politicians for the election campaign in his hometown Rawalpindi. One of the politicians was no other than his own ideal and the epitome of Pakistan’s fast bowling, Imran Khan.

According to reports, published in The News (A Pakistan leading newspaper), the NA-56 candidate Hanif Abbasi, who is representing Pakistan Muslim League (N) and contesting a Rawalpindi seat against Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) founder Imran Khan, contacted Shoaib Akhtar few days ago and asked him to support his electoral campaign against PTI but Akhtar denied to take any immediate decision.

To counter this move by his rivals, Imran Khan then contacted the Rawalpindi Express and held meeting with him on the same day. Akhtar then blatantly denied Hanif Abbasi for any sort of support in the coming General Elections, which will take place on May 11.

It is also reported that after Akhtar made the decision to back out the PML-N hierarchy tempted him with a bonanza offer that once PML-N comes in power they will give him a senate ticket.
